SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — The Trump administration has advised two Bay Space counties it has no plans proper now to hunt a courtroom ruling instantly reinstating the president’s government order to withhold funding from communities that restrict cooperation with immigration authorities.
Courtroom paperwork filed on Friday and signed by U.S. Justice Division attorneys say the administration has indicated to Santa Clara and San Francisco counties that it isn’t contemplating looking for a keep on U.S. District Decide William Orrick’s order presently.
Orrick blocked the chief order concentrating on sanctuary cities on Tuesday, saying the president couldn’t set new circumstances on congressional spending.
The courtroom filings search to provide the administration extra time to answer Santa Clara and San Francisco’s lawsuits.
Trump referred to as Orrick’s ruling “ridiculous” and vowed to go to the U.S. Supreme Courtroom.
