Suspect In String Of San Jose Gold Chain Robberies Arrested


SAN JOSE (CBS SF) — Police within the South Bay on Monday introduced the current arrest of a suspect concerned in at the least seven armed and powerful-arm robberies that occurred between July 2017 and September 2017 in San Jose.

The robberies focused aged East Indian and Asian females. In the course of the robberies, the suspect would strategy the victims and seize gold chains from round their neck.  In one of many robberies, the suspect, recognized as 21-yr-previous San Jose resident Lawrence Carter, used a gun.

On Thursday, October 26, San Jose cops arrested Carter in San Jose and booked him into Santa Clara County Jail. He has been charged with three counts of theft, two counts of elder abuse, assault with a lethal weapon and vandalism

The case continues to be on-going and actively being investigated. Police have been asking for the general public’s help in figuring out further victims who might haven’t reported their theft to police. Detectives consider there could also be further robberies that occurred in San Jose and different Bay Space cities.
