WATSONVILLE (CBS SF) – A person was arrested Friday close to Watsonville, after deputies found almost two dozen malnourished chickens and roosters, along with proof the person was placing on cockfights, sheriff’s officers stated Monday.
At 6:fifty nine p.m., deputies went to the house of Ruben Lopez within the one hundred block of Buena Vista Drive to do a probation search of Lopez.
Through the search deputies allegedly discovered 22 malnourished chickens and roosters on Lopez’s property, rooster-preventing knife blades and leather-based straps used to connect the blades to the rooster’s legs, in line with sheriff’s officers.
