San Jose Police Officer Injured During Sideshow Crackdown

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) — A San Jose police officer was hospitalized after being struck by a car throughout a crackdown on unlawful sideshows throughout San Jose Sunday night time, authorities stated.

The officer was struck at about 10 p.m. on Hostetter Street close to Interstate Freeway 680 after stopping a car for reckless driving, San Jose police Sgt. Enrique Garcia stated.

The police response was a part of a focused crackdown of sideshows and road racing by a number of regulation enforcement businesses, together with San Jose police, the California Freeway Patrol, the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Workplace and Morgan Hill police.

The suspected driver of the car remained at giant on Monday morning. He fled the scene in a maroon or brown two-door Nissan 240SX. The suspect is described as a clear-shaven Hispanic or Filipino man in his early 20s, Garcia stated.

The officer was taken to a hospital to be handled for accidents that aren’t thought-about life-threatening.

4 individuals have been arrested on suspicion of reckless driving and excellent warrants, two citations have been issued and 5 automobiles have been impounded.
