OAKLAND (CBS SF) – Immigrant rights teams are planning a protest Wednesday night in response to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Workplace retweet Monday night time of a video posted by white supremacist Richard Spencer.
Teams together with the Asian Regulation Caucus and the California Immigrant Coverage Middle will collect at this time at 5:30 p.m. on the sheriff’s workplace at 1401 Lakeside Drive in Oakland.
The retweet is the newest in what the teams say is a string of racist feedback and actions involving the Alameda County Sheriff’s Workplace, together with Sheriff Greg Ahern’s signing of a letter on behalf of the California State Sheriffs’ Affiliation endorsing Jeff Session’s nomination as U.S. lawyer basic.
On Tuesday, Alameda County sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Ray Kelly apologized for the retweet of the outstanding white supremacist and stated it was unintentional.
Kelly stated he was researching Spencer as a result of he’s a “focus” of a proper-wing rally deliberate in Berkeley on Aug. 27.
