PHILADELPHIA (CBS)—Philadelphia Police detectives are in search of a person who they are saying stalked, beat and robbed an aged couple in West Philadelphia.
Authorities say it occurred round 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19 close to 61st and Market Road.
William Ravenell, 86, was strolling house after stopping to purchase meals and lottery tickets in West Philadelphia. Police say a person is seen in surveillance video following the Korean Warfare veteran. Off digital camera, police say the suspect harassed Ravenell with a razor blade and requested him for cash. Police say Ravenell ignored the suspect and began strolling house.
Authorities say the suspect adopted Ravenell, and compelled his means into the house. He then attacked the 86-yr-previous, by punching him and stealing his lottery tickets, in response to detectives.
“He pushed me down on the sofa and began punching,” Ravenell informed CBS3.
Authorities say his spouse, who’s eighty three, bumped into the lounge to assist, however the suspect attacked her as properly by choking her.
Authorities say the suspect received away with $50-$60 in lottery tickets.
“It’s simply horrible to see this happen. It’s irritating for regulation enforcement officers to have this individual strolling the streets,” Lt. John Walker with Philadelphia Police Division informed Eyewitness Information.
The suspect is described as a black man, sporting darkish coloured zip-up hooded sweatshirt with a lime inexperienced t-shirt beneath, a darkish coloured knit hat and darkish coloured denims.
