Police: Man Takes Jersey From Roy Halladay Memorial

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police say they’ve taken into custody a person who allegedly took a jersey from the makeshift memorial for Roy Halladay outdoors of Residents Financial institution Park.

Police inform CBS3 that an individual was taken into custody after an officer noticed a person taking a jersey from the memorial.

The person, who’s accused of putting the jersey underneath his jacket, was chased down by officers.

Police say the person was cited for disorderly conduct and launched.

Authorities add that since nobody claimed possession of the jersey no costs shall be filed.

Halladay died Tuesday when his ICON A5 aircraft he was flying crashed off the Florida coast within the Gulf of Mexico.
