NYPD Recruit Dragged in Hit-and-Run Outside Police Academy, Officials Say

QUEENS — An NYPD recruit was critically injured when she was struck and dragged by a truck driver who then fled the scene outdoors the Police Academy in School Level on Monday morning, officers stated.

The 35-yr-previous lady, whose identify wasn’t instantly launched, was hit by the truck because it made a proper flip onto Ulmer Avenue off of twenty eighth Avenue round 6 a.m., NYPD officers stated.

She was dragged by the truck an unknown distance and was later taken to New York-Presbyterian Queens with critical accidents that weren’t thought-about life-threatening, the NYPD stated.

The driving force didn’t stay on the scene, police stated. It wasn’t instantly clear if the driving force knew about hitting the recruit.

The NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad was on scene.
