Louisville man accused of brandishing rifle at school in JCPS district

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Police say they’ve arrested a person who brandished a 9-millimeter rifle whereas on the property of a faculty within the Jefferson County Public Faculties district.

Based on an arrest report, the incident occurred on Tuesday, simply after four p.m., at Watson Lane Elementary Faculty, situated at 7201 Watson Lane, close to Tennis Boulevard.

Police say they have been despatched to the varsity after somebody reported that a man was pointing a rifle at youngsters.

In line with the arrest report, police spoke with 18-yr-previous Devin Bartlett, who stated it began when he noticed youngsters between the ages of 10-14 preventing on faculty grounds. Police say Bartlett admitted to getting out of his truck, pulling out a 9-millimeter rifle and displaying it to the youngsters in an try to scare them and, “cease them from preventing.”

Police say it occurred on faculty grounds, and Bartlett admitted he “made a nasty determination.”

Bartlett was arrested and charged with three counts of first-diploma wanton endangerment and the illegal possession of a weapon on faculty property.
