NEW JERSEY (CBS) — A Jersey Shore city votes Wednesday afternoon on whether or not to ban ice cream vans from its streets.
The borough council there’s set to vote on an ordinance that may prohibit ice cream vans from the streets.
Avalon Enterprise Administrator Scott Wahl says there are questions of safety, with vans parking on the finish of seashore blocks after which backing down to go away.
He says there are high quality-of-life considerations as properly.
“We acquired quite a few complaints about nuisance points from the vans being parked for an prolonged time period on the road ends, with the engine operating and the music or the bells blaring.”
