by Mike DeNardo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Complaints are rising over a brand new sort of telemarketing rip-off.

You’ll have gotten a phone name that begins like this:

“Hello, that is Josh from the customer support division. Are you able to hear me okay?”

Higher Enterprise Bureau spokeswoman Kelsey Owen says the instinctive reply is ‘Sure.” However, she warns, don’t say something and cling up, as a result of it’s truly a robocall recording your finish of the dialog.

“They need you to say ‘sure’ to allow them to use that ‘sure’ at a later date to edit it to make it sound such as you’re authorizing a serious buy,” Owen defined

Owen says greater than half of the BBB’s complaints in current days have been about this rip-off.

She says the Philadelphia workplace even acquired considered one of these calls.

She advises screening calls with caller ID and becoming a member of the Do Not Name registry. And, for those who get such a name, control your telephone invoice and bank card statements for unauthorized purchases.
