PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A ceremonial groundbreaking for work on a key connection alongside the Tacony Path in Tacony Creek Park was held Thursday.
Work is already underneath means on the three-tenth’s of a mile hyperlink within the path.
Julie Slavet, government director of the Tookany/Tacony Frankford Watershed Partnership, says the path connects Tacony Creek Park within the metropolis with the communities of Abington, Cheltenham, and Jenkintown upstream.
She says the group knew this half was a key connection.
“We all know that folks don’t need to cross the bouelvard. It’s not protected, it’s scary. So this was actually a barrier to get individuals onto the path,” Slavet stated.
“It will truly be completed within the spring of 2018. We’re properly beneath approach, so spring 2018 you’ll have the ability to stroll proper via to the opposite aspect,” stated Aparna Palantino, deputy commissioner for parks and recreation.
