GLOUCESTER COUNTY, N.J. (CBS) — Gloucester County officers are warning residents a few telephone rip-off involving impostors pretending to be county staff.
The Gloucester County administration, together with the County Workplace of Shopper Safety urge residents to not give info to anybody posing as a county worker throughout these calls, until the calls are initiated by the residents.
“Nobody in county authorities makes random calls to residents to ask private info, neither is the county at present concerned in any program that might require a resident to offer this info,” Freeholder Director Robert Damminger stated.
Freeholder Lyman Barnes, Freeholder Liaison to the Workplace of Shopper Safety, stated, “If this occurs to you, simply hold-up and if the calls persist, name the native police division.”
Residents can contact the Workplace of Shopper Safety at 856-384-6855 for recommendation on dealing with a majority of these calls.
