Carjacking May Have Led To Hwy 101 Officer-Involved Shooting

SAN MATEO (CBS SF) — Authorities on Saturday stated they consider suspect fatally shot by CHP officers on Freeway one hundred and one in San Mateo Friday night time was concerned in an armed carjacking.

Police in San Mateo stated the incident began as a visitors accident involving two automobiles on Freeway one hundred and one close to the Freeway ninety two interchange early Friday night at about 5:30 p.m.

When CHP officers arrived, the suspect was holding a gun, in accordance with police.

The suspect ignored instructions to drop the weapon and three of the CHP officers on the scene opened hearth.

The driving force of the second car within the accident was not harmed, however investigators try to find out if the driving force and the suspect knew one another.
