Ben Affleck Steps Back From Directing Next ‘Batman’ Film


LOS ANGELES (AP) — Ben Affleck is not directing the Batman standalone film for Warner Bros.

In a press release Monday, Affleck stated it “has turn out to be clear that I can’t do each jobs to the extent they require” and that he and the studio are on the lookout for a brand new director.

Affleck, who made his debut because the superhero for the studio final summer time in “Batman v Superman: Daybreak of Justice.” had been hooked up to put in writing and direct the Batman standalone film for over a yr.

The studio in a press release stated that it “absolutely helps” his choice and “stays dedicated to working with him to deliver a standalone Batman image to life.”

Warner Bros. this previous fall misplaced one other director of their DC Universe in Rick Famuyiwa who had been set for “The Flash.”
