LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — One of the best and brightest on the earth of native arts have been featured Saturday night time at Churchill Downs.
The 2nd annual Awards for the Arts kicked off opening night time on the Downs.
The occasion included races, artwork performances across the monitor, and a purple carpet.
It was hosted by Fund for the Arts and the Jennifer Lawrence Basis.
The occasion targeted on the significance of the humanities in a time when artwork packages typically get reduce from faculty funding.
“I’m keen about that. That completely can’t occur, we’re an arts group. We owe it to our youngsters to offer it for that,” Karen Lawrence stated.
A few of these honored tonight included Louisville Story Program, actor Tim Daly, and Kentucky Shakespeare.
“The extra we will share our humanity, the higher we’ll perceive one another and the higher world we’ll have – that’s type of the extra inside argument for why we’d like arts,” Tim Daly stated.
